Overview

TAC-302 is a novel small molecule drug, specifically a cyclohexenone long-chain alcohol derivative, developed to enhance neurite outgrowth. Its mechanism of action involves stimulating nerve growth factor activity, thereby promoting the regeneration and repair of neuronal projections (neurites). This effect is expected to restore urinary function in patients with lower urinary tract dysfunctions such as detrusor underactivity (DU) and overactive bladder (OAB). Clinical studies have shown that oral administration of TAC-302 improves bladder contractility indices in both male and female patients with DU, suggesting potential benefit for this population. The drug has demonstrated a favorable safety profile in phase 2 trials[1][2][3][4][6].
