TACE-HAIC + TKI + PD-1 inhibitor

This combination regimen, studied by Yunfei Yuan at Sun Yat-Sen University Cancer Center, integrates locoregional and systemic therapies for the treatment of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), particularly in patients with portal vein tumor thrombus (PVTT). The regimen consists of Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization (TACE) and Hepatic Artery Infusion Chemotherapy (HAIC) using agents such as oxaliplatin, 5-fluorouracil, and epirubicin, combined with systemic Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors (TKIs) like lenvatinib, sorafenib, or apatinib, and PD-1 inhibitors such as camrelizumab or sintilimab. This triple-therapy approach aims to maximize local tumor control while simultaneously addressing systemic disease and enhancing the anti-tumor immune response, showing significant improvements in overall survival and response rates in clinical studies.
