This regimen combines Taclonex ointment—a fixed-dose combination of the vitamin D3 analog calcipotriene and the potent corticosteroid betamethasone dipropionate—with a non-medicated hydrogel patch used for occlusion. Calcipotriene works by binding to the vitamin D receptor (VDR) to inhibit keratinocyte proliferation and promote normal cell differentiation, while betamethasone dipropionate acts on the glucocorticoid receptor to provide anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects.
