TACTIVA CD8 cell is an autologous, engineered T-cell receptor (TCR) T-cell therapy being developed by Tactiva Therapeutics for the treatment of solid tumors expressing the NY-ESO-1 antigen. The therapy involves the ex vivo genetic modification of a patient's own CD8+ T cells to express a high-affinity TCR specific for NY-ESO-1, a cancer-testis antigen frequently overexpressed in various malignancies but with limited expression in normal tissues. Once re-infused into the patient, these cytotoxic CD8+ T cells are designed to directly recognize and eliminate tumor cells. This candidate is a core component of Tactiva's Dual Enhanced Adoptive Cell Therapy (DEACT) platform, which is designed to combine these cytotoxic CD8+ cells with hematopoietic stem cell-derived CD4+ T cells to achieve both immediate tumor debulking and sustained, long-term immune surveillance against recurrence.
