TaffiX

TaffiX is an intranasal powder spray medical device developed by Nasus Pharma for prevention of respiratory viral infection and allergen exposure in the nasal cavity. The product is based on hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose that rapidly forms an acidified gel barrier over the nasal mucosa after intranasal administration; this barrier is intended to physically impede contact between inhaled pathogens and the nasal epithelium while creating a low-pH microenvironment that is unfavorable for viral survival. It has been marketed as a protective mechanical barrier rather than as a conventional receptor-targeting pharmaceutical, with reported use against SARS-CoV-2 and other upper respiratory viruses including influenza and rhinoviruses, and also as a barrier against allergens.
