Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TAI-meso-CART is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapy targeting mesothelin, a tumor differentiation antigen overexpressed in several solid tumors. Developed by Shanghai Genechem, this therapy is designed to treat advanced pancreatic carcinoma and potentially other mesothelin-positive cancers. The mechanism of action involves genetically engineered autologous T cells expressing a CAR that recognizes and binds to mesothelin on tumor cells, leading to immunologic cytotoxicity and replacement of dysfunctional or absent T lymphocytes. This approach aims to harness the patient’s immune system for targeted destruction of cancer cells[1][3][4].
