Overview

Taijilidine (NH112) is a novel, small-molecule, G protein-biased mu-opioid receptor (MOR) agonist developed by Jiangsu Nhwa Pharmaceutical. It is designed to provide potent analgesia for moderate to severe pain while minimizing the recruitment of beta-arrestin 2, a pathway associated with typical opioid-related adverse effects such as respiratory depression, constipation, and nausea. Taijilidine is currently in Phase 3 clinical development in China for the treatment of postoperative pain and is also being investigated for its ability to suppress hemodynamic stress responses during tracheal intubation in general anesthesia. It is often studied in comparison or combination with other anesthetic agents, such as ciprofol and remimazolam (Anruikefen).
