Taipegastim (also referred to as topifegastim) is a long-acting pegylated recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (PEG-rhG-CSF) developed by CSPC Pharmaceutical Group. It is produced by conjugating a 20 kDa polyethylene glycol (PEG) molecule to the N-terminal amino acid of recombinant human G-CSF via a propionaldehyde linker. Taipegastim acts as a G-CSF receptor agonist, stimulating the survival, proliferation, differentiation, and function of neutrophil precursors and mature neutrophils. It is primarily used to decrease the incidence of infection, as manifested by febrile neutropenia, in patients with non-myeloid malignancies receiving myelosuppressive anti-cancer drugs. Marketed in China under the brand name Jinyouli, it was the first long-acting G-CSF approved in the country and is used across various oncology settings, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), breast cancer, and lymphomas.
