Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Taitai Gubao Granules is a Chinese patent medicine developed by the Chengdu Kang'ao Pharmaceutical Research Institute, primarily indicated for the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis. The formulation is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles, utilizing herbal extracts known for their kidney-tonifying and bone-strengthening properties. It is designed to address the decline in bone mineral density (BMD) associated with estrogen deficiency in postmenopausal women. The drug's mechanism involves the action of phytoestrogens and other bioactive compounds that modulate the balance between osteoblast-led bone formation and osteoclast-led bone resorption. It has undergone clinical evaluation in China to demonstrate its efficacy in reducing bone loss and improving bone quality.
