Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TAK-058 (also known as ENV-8058) is an orally administered small molecule drug developed as a serotonin 3 (5-HT3) receptor antagonist. Its primary mechanism of action is antagonism of the serotonin 3 receptor. TAK-058 was originally developed by Envoy Therapeutics and later by Takeda following acquisition. The drug was investigated for the treatment of cognitive impairment associated with schizophrenia and other neuropsychiatric disorders such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, Parkinson's disease, and Huntington's disease. Clinical development reached phase 1 trials in schizophrenia but has since been discontinued[1][2][3][4].
