TAK-102 is an autologous, next-generation "armored" CAR-T cell therapy targeting glypican-3 (GPC3), a protein highly expressed in certain solid tumors such as hepatocellular carcinoma and some other tumor types. The therapy involves genetically modifying a patient's own T lymphocytes to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for GPC3, along with additional enhancements such as IL-7 and CCL19 expression to improve persistence and antitumor activity. TAK-102 is designed to bind GPC3 on tumor cells, leading to targeted immunologic cytotoxicity against the cancer. It is being developed primarily for the treatment of previously treated solid tumors expressing GPC3. Early clinical trials have shown that TAK-102 has a manageable safety profile with early signs of antitumor activity[1][2][3][4][5].
