TAK-103 is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy targeting mesothelin, a protein commonly overexpressed in various solid tumors. The therapy involves collecting a patient's own white blood cells, genetically modifying the T lymphocytes to express a CAR specific for human mesothelin as well as IL-7 and CCL19, and then infusing these modified cells back into the patient. The primary aim is to induce immunologic cytotoxicity against mesothelin-expressing tumor cells. TAK-103 was developed by Takeda in collaboration with Noile-Immune Biotech and originated from Yamaguchi University. Its main indication has been advanced or metastatic solid tumors expressing mesothelin[1][2][3][4].
