TAK-188

TAK-188 is an investigational antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) developed by Takeda that targets the C-C motif chemokine receptor 8 (CCR8). CCR8 is a protein that is selectively overexpressed on the surface of tumor-infiltrating regulatory T cells (Tregs), which are responsible for suppressing the immune system's ability to attack cancer cells. By binding to CCR8, TAK-188 delivers a cytotoxic payload directly to these suppressive cells, leading to their depletion within the tumor microenvironment. This selective removal of Tregs is intended to reverse immune inhibition and allow effector T cells, such as CD8+ T cells, to more effectively target and destroy tumor cells. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials for the treatment of adults with locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors.
