Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TAK-671 is a recombinant human monoclonal antibody developed by Takeda for the treatment of COVID-19. It was designed to target the spike protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, specifically neutralizing the virus to prevent its entry into host cells. The drug was investigated in a Phase 1b clinical trial (NCT04570319) targeting hospitalized adults with severe COVID-19. In 2021, Takeda terminated the development of TAK-671, citing the rapidly evolving treatment landscape and the availability of alternative therapeutic options.
