Overview

**TAK-781** is an investigational therapeutic agent developed by Takeda for **non-cirrhotic primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC)**, a chronic liver disease characterized by inflammation and scarring of the bile ducts. Administered via **subcutaneous injection**, it is currently in **Phase 1** clinical trials evaluating safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and immunogenicity in healthy volunteers and PSC patients. The program includes single and multiple ascending dose studies in healthy participants (Phase 1a) and single-dose administration in non-cirrhotic PSC patients (Phase 1b), with assessments of target engagement and fibrogenesis biomarkers.[3][5][7]
