TAK-988

TAK-988 is an orally administered small molecule drug developed by Takeda for the treatment of sleep disorders. It acts as a selective agonist of the orexin 2 receptor (OX2R), a target implicated in the regulation of wakefulness and sleep. Preclinical studies demonstrated that TAK-988 ameliorates narcolepsy-like symptoms in animal models with ablated orexin neurons, suggesting its potential utility for conditions such as narcolepsy.
