Talineuren (NI-101) is a recombinant human monoclonal antibody specifically designed to target and neutralize pathological forms of alpha-synuclein, including oligomers and fibrils. Developed by Neurimmune using its proprietary Reverse Translational Medicine (RTM) platform, the antibody was derived from B cells of healthy elderly individuals who showed no signs of cognitive or motor impairment, suggesting a protective immune response. Talineuren aims to slow or halt the progression of Parkinson's disease and other synucleinopathies by promoting the microglial clearance of toxic aggregates and blocking the cell-to-cell transmission of misfolded proteins. By targeting the extracellular alpha-synuclein species responsible for the spread of neurodegeneration, it seeks to preserve neuronal integrity and function.
