Overview

TALL-104 is a human leukemic T lymphoblast cell line derived from the peripheral blood of a child with relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia. It functions as an adoptive cell therapy, classified as a human MHC non-restricted cytotoxic T-cell line. Upon administration, these cells interact directly with tumor cells and induce apoptosis and necrosis, leading to tumor cell lysis while sparing normal tissues. The mechanism involves both direct contact-mediated killing (including lytic granule exocytosis) and secretion of cytokines, but not via the Fas/Fas ligand pathway. TALL-104 has demonstrated broad antitumor activity in preclinical models against various solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. It is being developed primarily for ovarian cancer by Galileo Research and Abiogen Pharma, with orphan drug designation for this indication[1][4][5][6].
