Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Tamaril** is a Brazilian oral herbal medicinal laxative manufactured by Marjan. It is a fixed botanical preparation containing senna (*Senna alexandrina*) leaf powder or extract, together with preparations of *Cassia fistula*, *Tamarindus indica*, *Coriandrum sativum*, and *Periandra mediterranea*. Senna-derived sennosides provide the principal stimulant-laxative activity by increasing colonic peristalsis and promoting stool softening; the other plant components contribute laxative, antispasmodic, and supportive gastrointestinal effects. Tamaril is indicated to regulate bowel function and treat constipation, including functional intestinal constipation.
