Overview

Tamsublock is a small molecule pharmaceutical containing tamsulosin hydrochloride, developed by Pfleger (Dr. Pfleger Arzneimittel GmbH). It is a selective antagonist of alpha-1A and alpha-1D adrenergic receptors located primarily in the human prostate and bladder neck. By blocking these receptors, Tamsublock induces relaxation of the smooth muscle in the prostate and urethra, which reduces resistance to urinary flow and alleviates lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The drug is formulated as modified-release hard capsules to ensure sustained therapeutic effect and is an established treatment option for managing symptoms of an enlarged prostate.
