Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**URICAM-D** is an oral fixed-dose combination of **tamsulosin hydrochloride** and **dutasteride** developed by Cam Neuro Pharma for **benign prostatic hyperplasia**. Tamsulosin is a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist, with functional selectivity for alpha-1A receptors in prostatic and urethral smooth muscle, which improves urinary flow by reducing smooth-muscle tone. Dutasteride inhibits type 1 and type 2 5-alpha-reductase, lowering dihydrotestosterone production and reducing prostate volume over time. The combination addresses both rapid relief of lower urinary tract symptoms and the androgen-driven progression of prostate enlargement.
