Overview

**tamsulosin + mirabegron** is a fixed-dose combination of two small molecule drugs, used primarily to treat men with **overactive bladder (OAB)** symptoms, either in the context of **benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)** with OAB or OAB alone. Tamsulosin is a selective **α1 adrenergic receptor antagonist** that relaxes smooth muscle in the bladder neck and prostate, improving urine flow and reducing symptoms of obstruction and irritative lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). Mirabegron is a **β3 adrenergic receptor agonist** that acts on the bladder's detrusor muscle, enhancing bladder storage capacity and reducing urgency/frequency by stimulating β3 receptors. Combination therapy offers an alternative to alpha blocker plus antimuscarinic combinations, with a favorable safety profile and few anticholinergic side effects[1][2][3][4]. This combination improves urinary symptoms and quality of life, showing increased efficacy compared to tamsulosin alone in clinical studies. Common indications include **OAB** and **LUTS** in men, especially those with BPH.
