Overview
Tangbi is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal prescription developed for the treatment of diabetic distal symmetric polyneuropathy (DSPN). It is typically used as an adjunct to standard care, such as mecobalamin, to alleviate symptoms including numbness, pain, and sensory loss. The formula is based on TCM principles of syndrome differentiation, aiming to improve blood circulation and resolve Bi (blockage) syndromes associated with chronic hyperglycemia. It has been evaluated in clinical trials to assess its impact on Michigan Diabetic Neuropathy Score (MDNS) and nerve conduction velocity, demonstrating potential advantages in relieving symptoms and reducing the incidence of DSPN exacerbations.
