Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tangliping Decoction (TLP) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound formulated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and its associated complications, specifically diabetic cognitive impairment (DCI). TLP contains various active ingredients, with quercetin identified as a primary blood-absorbed component. The therapeutic mechanism involves reshaping the gut microbiota composition, which in turn restores the integrity of the gut and brain barriers. TLP administration has been shown to improve learning and memory, reduce insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), and restore pancreatic beta-cell function (HOMA-β), leading to improved glycemic control.
