Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tangwen Tai is a probiotic combination product containing three specific bacterial strains: *Lactobacillus plantarum* LP45, *Lactobacillus acidophilus* La28, and *Bifidobacterium animalis* subsp. *lactis* BAL531. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials by Peking Union Medical College Hospital for the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The product is designed to address gut microbiota dysbiosis, which is hypothesized to play a significant role in the pathogenesis of PCOS by influencing metabolic and hormonal balance. By restoring microbial diversity and correcting taxonomic imbalances in the gastrointestinal tract, Tangwen Tai aims to improve metabolic parameters, immune function, and clinical symptoms in women with PCOS.
