TAOS (Targeted Orchestrated Signaling) is an injectable, biodegradable scaffold matrix system developed by Locate Bio for use in regenerative medicine and localized drug delivery. The technology utilizes a thermally-triggered polymer, typically poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA), that transitions from a granular suspension into a highly porous, solid scaffold upon exposure to body heat. This matrix provides an osteoconductive environment that supports cell infiltration and tissue repair while enabling the controlled, sustained release of therapeutic agents such as bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2), proteins, or cells. It is primarily indicated for orthopedic applications, including spinal fusion, bone regeneration, and the treatment of osteomyelitis, where it aims to improve surgical outcomes by providing a stable, space-filling depot that eventually degrades as new tissue forms.
