Overview

TAR-210 (Erda-iDRS) is an investigational intravesical drug delivery system designed for the sustained local release of erdafitinib within the bladder. Erdafitinib is a potent tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets the fibroblast growth factor receptors FGFR1, FGFR2, FGFR3, and FGFR4. The system consists of a drug-filled silicone tube that is inserted into the bladder via a catheter, where it continuously releases the medication to treat urothelial carcinoma, particularly in patients with FGFR alterations. This localized delivery approach is intended to maximize therapeutic concentrations at the tumor site while reducing systemic exposure and the associated side effects typically seen with oral FGFR inhibitors. TAR-210 is currently being developed by Janssen for the treatment of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) and muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC).
