Overview

TAR002 is a preclinical-stage nucleic acid therapeutic being developed by TargImmune Therapeutics for the treatment of solid tumors. It is part of the company's Targeted Apoptosis and Immune Modulator (TAIM) platform, which utilizes synthetic nanoparticles to deliver double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) directly to cancer cells. The drug is designed to target an undisclosed receptor overexpressed on cancer cells, where it induces apoptosis and simultaneously modulates the immune response to enhance anti-tumor activity. As of early 2024, TAR002 remains in the exploratory stage of development, alongside other candidates in the company's pipeline such as TAR001 and TAR003.
