Overview

TARG9 is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) developed by Targinta, a subsidiary of Xintela. It consists of an integrin α10-antibody linked to a potent cytotoxin, designed to selectively target and kill cancer cells expressing the integrin α10β1 receptor. This receptor is highly expressed in aggressive cancers such as glioblastoma and triple-negative breast cancer but has minimal expression in normal tissues, allowing for selective tumor targeting. The ADC technology ensures that the cytotoxin remains attached to the antibody while circulating and is only released upon internalization into target cancer cells, thereby minimizing off-target toxicity. Preclinical studies have demonstrated strong binding specificity, efficient internalization, potent cell-killing activity at low concentrations, and significant inhibition of tumor growth in glioblastoma models[1][4][5][6].
