Overview
Tarlatamab is a first-in-class bispecific monoclonal antibody and T-cell engager (BiTE) used for the treatment of adults with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (SCLC) that has progressed on or after platinum-based chemotherapy. It works by simultaneously binding to delta-like ligand 3 (DLL3), which is highly expressed on SCLC cells, and CD3 on T cells. This dual binding brings T cells into close proximity with cancer cells, activating the immune response and leading to targeted lysis of DLL3-expressing tumor cells. Tarlatamab is administered intravenously and has received FDA accelerated approval for this indication[1][2][3][5][6].
