Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Taron Forte is a prescription-strength prenatal multivitamin and mineral supplement developed and marketed by Trigen Laboratory. It is specifically formulated to meet the increased nutritional demands of women during pregnancy and the postpartum period, including lactation. The formulation includes a comprehensive array of essential vitamins (including A, C, D3, E, and B-complex) and minerals (such as iron and zinc), along with 1 mg of folic acid to support fetal neural tube development and carbonyl iron to prevent maternal anemia. Notably, Taron Forte includes docusate sodium, a stool softener, to help alleviate the common side effect of constipation associated with high-dose iron supplementation. It is indicated for the treatment and prevention of vitamin and mineral deficiencies during pregnancy and the postnatal period.
