Overview

TARP 27-35 is a 9-amino acid peptide (sequence: LLFPCAVVV) derived from the T-cell receptor alternative reading frame protein (TARP). TARP is a tumor-associated antigen predominantly expressed in prostate and breast adenocarcinomas, with limited expression in normal tissues. The TARP 27-35 peptide is an HLA-A*0201-restricted epitope. When administered as a vaccine, typically in combination with an adjuvant such as Montanide ISA-51 and often alongside GM-CSF, it is intended to induce a specific cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) response against TARP-expressing tumor cells. This immunotherapy approach aims to control tumor growth and reduce prostate-specific antigen (PSA) velocity in patients with biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer.
