Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Grove Biopharma is developing a preclinical small molecule program targeting the 4R tau isoform for the treatment of tauopathies, including Alzheimer's Disease, Corticobasal Dementia (CBD), and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). The program utilizes Grove's proprietary Bionic Biologics™ platform (also known as the Peptide-Like Platform or PLP), which generates synthetic molecules designed to penetrate cells and target intracellular protein-protein interactions. Unlike traditional tau therapies that focus on broad clearance or microtubule stabilization, this approach specifically targets a unique structural motif of the 4R tau isoform to modulate pathological aggregation and function.
