Drug intelligence / Profile preview
tavapadon + levodopa is an adjunctive therapeutic regimen combining tavapadon, a once-daily oral selective dopamine D1/D5 receptor partial agonist, with levodopa, a standard dopamine-precursor therapy, for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. Developed by AbbVie (following its acquisition of Cerevel Therapeutics), tavapadon (marketed as Juvmo) was approved by the US FDA in September 2026. The combination is indicated for patients with Parkinson's disease experiencing motor fluctuations. In the Phase 3 TEMPO-3 trial, adding tavapadon to stable levodopa therapy significantly increased daily "ON" time without troublesome dyskinesia and reduced "OFF" time compared to levodopa plus placebo.
