Overview

TAVST01 is an investigational allogeneic cell therapy product developed by Tikva Allocell for the treatment of solid tumors. It is an off-the-shelf Epstein-Barr Virus Specific T cell (EBVST) platform that has been engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting B7-H3 antigen (also known as CD276), a protein highly expressed in various solid tumors such as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), colorectal cancer (CRC), triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), gastric cancer, prostate and pancreatic cancers, and pediatric malignancies. The therapy uses a nanobody-based CAR domain to improve stability over traditional scFv-based domains. Preclinical data indicate potent anti-tumor activity and the ability to target both tumor cells and immunosuppressive components of the tumor microenvironment, including myeloid-derived suppressor cells. The product aims to overcome key challenges in CAR-T therapy for solid tumors by providing enhanced persistence, safety profile with low incidence of cytokine release syndrome, and potential for multiple dosing or combination therapies[1][3][4].
