Overview

TAX2 is a therapeutic peptide developed by Apmonia Therapeutics that acts as an antagonist of the interaction between Thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1) and its receptor CD47. By disrupting this interaction, TAX2 aims to restore anti-tumor immune responses and inhibit tumor angiogenesis and growth. The peptide is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1/2a first-in-human clinical trial for advanced solid tumors, including relapsed/refractory ovarian, colorectal, and pancreatic cancers, as well as cutaneous melanoma. Additionally, the TAX2 technology is being explored for the treatment of thrombotic and cardiovascular disorders (under the code AP-02) due to the role of the TSP-1/CD47 axis in platelet activation and vascular function.
