Taxane + bevacizumab is a combination regimen used primarily in oncology, consisting of a taxane-class chemotherapeutic agent (such as paclitaxel or docetaxel) and bevacizumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A). Taxanes disrupt microtubule function, inhibiting cell division and inducing apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. Bevacizumab inhibits angiogenesis by binding to VEGF-A, preventing the formation of new blood vessels that supply tumors. This combination has been studied and used as first-line therapy for metastatic breast cancer and advanced ovarian cancer, among other indications. The regimen aims to enhance antitumor efficacy by combining cytotoxic chemotherapy with anti-angiogenic targeted therapy[1][2][6][7][8][9].
