Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lefusong is a topical combination therapy developed by Chongqing Huabang Pharmaceutical for the treatment of chronic plaque psoriasis. It contains tazarotene, a third-generation retinoid, and betamethasone dipropionate, a potent synthetic corticosteroid. Tazarotene acts as a selective agonist for retinoic acid receptors (RARs), specifically RAR-beta and RAR-gamma, which helps normalize keratinocyte differentiation and reduce epidermal hyperplasia. Betamethasone dipropionate acts as a glucocorticoid receptor agonist, providing anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and immunosuppressive effects by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators. The combination is designed to enhance efficacy while potentially mitigating the irritation often associated with retinoid monotherapy.
