Overview

TB-500 is a synthetic peptide, specifically the N-terminal acetylated 17-23 fragment of human thymosin beta 4 (Ac-LKKTETQ). It is derived from the active site of thymosin β4, which is naturally involved in actin binding, cell migration, and wound healing. TB-500 is claimed to promote endothelial cell differentiation, angiogenesis in dermal tissues, keratinocyte migration, and collagen deposition, while decreasing inflammation. It is considered a performance-enhancing substance and is subject to doping control in sports, including equine sports, where it is used as a veterinary preparation. Its metabolite, Ac-LKKTE, has shown significant wound healing activity.
