Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TB002 is a first-in-class synthetic peptide drug candidate developed by Shenzhen Tuowei Anchuang Technology Development (also known as Turier Bio) for the treatment of chronic respiratory and fibrotic diseases. The drug is specifically designed to target and inhibit the TGF-β1 (Transforming Growth Factor beta 1) signaling pathway, a critical driver in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis that promotes myofibroblast activation and extracellular matrix deposition. TB002 is formulated as an inhalation solution to provide direct delivery to the lung tissue, potentially minimizing systemic side effects. The program received Investigational New Drug (IND) approval from the NMPA in December 2022. A Phase Ia clinical trial evaluating the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of TB002 in healthy volunteers was completed in 2023, and the drug is currently advancing into Phase Ib trials for patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
