Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TB004 is a long-acting peptide-based Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) agonist developed by Shenzhen Tuowei Anchuang Technology Development (also known as Turier Bio). The drug is designed to treat metabolic disorders, primarily type 2 diabetes mellitus, by mimicking the action of endogenous GLP-1 to stimulate insulin secretion, inhibit glucagon release, and slow gastric emptying. TB004 is engineered for a prolonged half-life to support infrequent dosing schedules, such as weekly administration. In October 2022, the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) granted Investigational New Drug (IND) approval for TB004, allowing it to proceed into Phase 1 clinical trials for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
