TB181-36

TB181-36 is a fully human IgG1 monoclonal antibody targeting the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the SARS-CoV-2 spike (S) protein, discovered using Twist Bioscience’s synthetic antibody libraries in collaboration with Vanderbilt University Medical Center. It was selected from the TB181 antibody series based on potent neutralization of authentic SARS-CoV-2 in vitro and strong in vivo efficacy in golden Syrian hamster models, where prophylactic administration at 5–10 mg/kg conferred protection comparable to convalescent plasma against WA1 strain infection. TB181-36 is being evaluated as a traditional IgG therapeutic antibody (distinct from Twist’s VHH “nanobody” candidates) for treatment and post-exposure prophylaxis of COVID-19 and has been positioned for further internal development or partnering by Twist Bioscience.[1][3][4][6][8]
