Overview

TBC-1002 is a proliposomal intravesical formulation of the cytotoxic taxane paclitaxel, engineered to convert to liposomes in situ and deliver sustained, high local drug concentrations to the urothelium for the treatment of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. It is being developed by LIPAC Oncology (a spin-out of TesoRx Pharma), with a proprietary proliposome technology intended to enhance urothelial penetration and retention while limiting systemic exposure compared with conventional intravesical chemotherapy.[7][9][11][12] Early-phase clinical studies have evaluated intravesical TBC-1002 in patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, including those with prior bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) exposure, with the goal of improving local tumor control and tolerability.[9][11][12]
