Overview

TBC-3B is a recombinant vaccinia virus-based vaccine developed to express the HIV-1 IIIB envelope (env), group-specific antigen (gag), and polymerase (pol) genes. It was designed as an investigational therapeutic and prophylactic HIV vaccine, aiming to induce immune responses against multiple HIV antigens. The vaccine was evaluated for safety and immunogenicity in vaccinia-naive individuals using different administration routes, including scarification, intradermal, and subcutaneous injection. Booster immunization with MN rgp120 HIV-1 protein in alum followed the priming with TBC-3B[10].
