Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TBD-FcRN is an oral small molecule inhibitor of the neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) under preclinical development by Orogen Therapeutics (formerly OroGen BioSciences) for the treatment of various autoimmune diseases. By blocking the interaction between FcRn and immunoglobulin G (IgG), the drug prevents the recycling of IgG antibodies, leading to their rapid clearance and degradation. This mechanism is designed to reduce the levels of pathogenic autoantibodies that drive autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, offering an oral alternative to existing biologic FcRn-targeted therapies.
