TBE025 is a recombinant, fully human monoclonal antibody (mAb) developed for the potential treatment or prevention of tick-borne encephalitis (TBE). It is designed to target and neutralize the Tick-borne Encephalitis Virus (TBEV), a member of the Flaviviridae family that causes significant neurological disease. By binding to the virus, TBE025 aims to prevent viral entry into host cells and facilitate the clearance of the pathogen. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials, led by Giuseppe Pantaleo, to investigate its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile in healthy adult volunteers following intravenous administration.
