Overview

TBG096 is a natural product-derived small molecule gentiside derivative, originally isolated from the plant *Gentiana rigescens* Franch. It functions as a multi-target therapeutic agent with significant activity in both neurodegeneration and dermatology. In models of Alzheimer's disease, TBG096 acts as a nerve growth factor (NGF) mimic, crossing the blood-brain barrier to promote neurogenesis and improve cognitive function through the modulation of the Hsc70/HK2/PKM2/LAMP2A signaling pathway. In the context of hair loss, TBG096 serves as an agonist of the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF-1R), which triggers the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway to induce angiogenesis in the dermal papilla and facilitate the telogen-to-anagen transition of hair follicles. Additionally, it has been shown to reduce dihydrotestosterone (DHT) levels, making it a potential candidate for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia and age-related hair loss.
