TBIBipDep-01 is a live biotherapeutic product (LBP) and psychobiotic being developed by Taylored Biotherapeutics for the treatment of bipolar depression. It functions as a microbial therapeutic designed to modulate the gut-brain axis, the bidirectional communication network between the gastrointestinal tract and the central nervous system. The drug candidate is intended to address mental illness by influencing the microbiome to affect neurological function. As of the latest pipeline updates, TBIBipDep-01 has completed preclinical safety and efficacy testing, bacterial tracing characterization, and prototype development, and is currently in the protocol development stage for Phase I clinical trials.
