Overview

TBP201 is an investigational allogeneic cell therapy candidate composed of human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs), currently in preclinical development by FibroGenesis for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. The therapy is designed to leverage the regenerative potential of fibroblasts to stimulate endogenous neural stem cells and promote neural repair within the central nervous system. By utilizing HDFs rather than mesenchymal stem cells, FibroGenesis aims to provide a more accessible and potentially more effective cellular platform for neuroregeneration. The proposed mechanism of action involves the secretion of various growth factors and cytokines that foster a pro-regenerative environment in the brain, addressing the underlying neurodegeneration characteristic of Parkinson's disease.
