Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TBX201 is an orally administered, precision microbiome therapy being developed by Trobix Bio to prevent or reduce severe irinotecan-induced diarrhea in cancer patients. Using Trobix’s TBX platform, TBX201 consists of engineered bacteriophages that deliver a CRISPR-based payload to specific gut bacteria to modulate their function, including inhibition of bacterial β-glucuronidase activity that drives reactivation of irinotecan metabolites in the intestine, thereby alleviating gastrointestinal toxicity and potentially enabling more effective chemotherapy dosing.[3][5][8][11]
